In 2003 the average career lifespan of a Licensed Massage Therapist (LMT) was 3-5 years. This short timeline was based on unmet financial needs and physical injuries. Many LMTs experienced body burnout and earned modest wages while trying to keep up with the pace of a spa. Those who pursued their own practice were often unable to truly understand the rigors of having their own business.

The concept of Launch Therapist addresses the gap between massage school and the reality of a massage therapy business. BWB created Launch Therapist as a mentorship program that teaches LMTs the foundation of starting, owning and growing their own self-employed massage therapy business. Each Launch Therapist will have enhanced opportunities to learn, be mentored and to build their own clientele within the structure of Be Well Bozeman. Each therapist’s clients will be captured within the Schedulicity database, and when the therapist is ready to launch, they can apply their new knowledge and retain the client base they have built.

Launch Therapist Requirements:

·      Professionally trained Massage Therapist

·      Licensed in the State of Montana

·      Current on CEUs

·      Liability Insurance listing Be Well Bozeman as Additional Insured

A Launch Therapist will learn the following:

·      Treatment Room Setup (feng shui of layout, décor aesthetics, energy flow)

·      Insurance Billing (work comp cases, auto claims, company benefits, HSA)

·      Tax Savvy Tools (tax write-off strategies to maximize deductions)

·      Navigating Challenging Situations (inappropriate behavior, dissatisfied clients, etc.)

·      Marketing (frugal marketing skills and things to avoid)

·      Branding (What makes you stand out as a therapist?)
